SITE PLANNING
At the heart of everything we do is a land ethic of stewardship, conservation, and preservation that recognizes humans as part of nature, not above or apart from it.
Our site planning work respectfully blends development with the natural features of the land while considering context, climate and environment, topography, vegetative cover, views, privacy, sound and noise, orientation and aspect, existing and anticipated constraints, applicable regulations or restrictions in addition to client goals, needs, and preferences. Our thorough, multidisciplinary approach strives to consider everything from the big picture to the smallest details.

Placement of structures, utility infrastructure, water features, pools, drives and parking, livestock and equestrian facilities, recreation and fitness areas, paths and trails, walls and fencing, lawn, and planting areas should be thoughtfully considered prior to site clearing or grading and can also contribute to wildfire-resistant design, resilience, and natural disaster preparedness. Our comprehensive site planning enhances the relationships between uses and the total experience throughout the whole property while preserving its unique natural features and wildlife habitat.

Similar to site planning but with less detail and more programmatic focus, our land planning work is generally focused on conceptual land use plans and subdivision design for larger lot rural subdivisions using these same principles.
