LANDSCAPE DESIGN
We help people experience the joys of connecting with the natural world through designed and managed landscapes integrated with their daily lives.
Our landscape planning and design work is focused on enhancing the connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, extending the living space of a structure into its adjacent outdoor spaces to create a feeling of an indoor-outdoor continuum as well as incorporating plants into exterior living spaces like porches and patios. We carefully consider relationships between uses, structures, thoroughfares, hardscape, plantings, natural areas, views, and sensory experience while anticipating how materials, plants, needs, and experience of the space will change over time. We help create places that are both functional and beautiful, accommodating a variety of uses including entertaining, exploration, food production, work, recreation, and rest while enhancing both privacy and opportunities for connection.

Our surroundings and environment have a powerful impact on our mood, mental, and physical health. A growing body of research describes numerous health benefits of proximity and access to green spaces, gardens, and nature. Beautiful outdoor spaces of any size reward us with joy, wonder, and food while teaching us so much about life, relating to ourselves and others.
We learn from the natural world to understand the wisdom in its processes and design with nature by incorporating nature-based solutions, regenerative practices and systems, and innovative stormwater management which manages and directs stormwater away from structures to infiltrate in planting areas, reducing irrigation cost, mitigating flooding, and preventing damage to structures and infrastructure.
